INE Certified Cloud Associate (ICCA)

We’re excited to announce the release of the first-ever INE-branded certification, the INE Certified Cloud Associate (ICCA)! After significant amounts of research and collaboration with the industry’s most well-known experts, we couldn’t be happier to share this with you.

The launch of the ICCA was a decision made to reflect the changing business landscape, where organizations utilize hybrid cloud models and require skills across various platforms. ICCA breaks down the silos of other Cloud providers and provides you with the fundamental knowledge and skills to make it in the multicloud sphere. Additionally, this certification focuses heavily on real-world application and scenario-based questions, taking your experience to a whole new level and providing a more in-depth understanding of the material.

What is the INE Certified Cloud Associate (ICCA)?

This certification is designed for IT professionals, managers, officers, sales, marketing, and support personnel who require a high-level understanding of cloud technologies. The ICCA validates that a candidate has the essential knowledge and skills required to participate in a range of strategic activities and conversations necessary for the application of cloud technologies as a business solution This certification covers general concepts and foundational cloud skills for supporting public cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

What materials are available to prepare for the certification?

We offer all kinds of Cloud training material including our hands-on lab activities, instructor-led videos, and quizzes for you to self-assess your information retention. This material will be updated regularly and reflect the material that is required to pass the certification exam.

How much will the exam cost?

The cost of the exam is $99.

What type of questions are included in the exam?

The INE Cloud Associate Certification has various types of question structures on the exam. Rather than using solely standard multiple choice questions on the certification exam, INE also uses scenario-based questions, “except” based questions, “select two” questions, etc. This was intentionally done in an effort to help students think more critically about the information presented in the career path and test them in a way that helps them reach more advanced levels of Bloom’s taxonomy, increasing the likelihood of the retention of this information/skills.

How long will I have to take the exam?

You will have 90 minutes to complete the certification exam including exam questions and labs. This timeframe is consecutive, so make sure you are fully prepared when you start the exam.

What are the exam objectives?

This exam covers general cloud concepts and how they are implemented in the three largest cloud providers - AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will be responsible for identifying core services from all three cloud providers.

  • The benefits of the cloud - This includes identifying the types of cloud services, enumerating the benefits of cloud services, and understanding cloud cost management.
  • Cloud management concepts - This includes describing the Shared Responsibility Model, identifying cloud provider support options, and selecting the appropriate management tools.
  • Cloud monitoring and automation features - This includes choosing the appropriate cloud monitoring tools, describing cloud alerts and alarms, and choosing the appropriate cloud automation services.
  • Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) - This includes identifying cloud compute instance elements, selecting the appropriate networking configuration, and enumerating the characteristics of cloud storage.

In addition to the objectives listed above, the ICCA exam will cover the following critical Cloud concepts:

  • Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS) - This includes selecting the appropriate platform data service, listing the characteristics of cloud application hosting platforms, and identifying cloud container service options.
  • Cloud identity vulnerabilities and protection tools - This includes knowing the most common attack targets and methods in cloud environments, choosing the correct identity protection tools, and identifying the quick reaction steps to perform when an identity is compromised.
  • Cloud infrastructure protection - This includes describing the concepts and tools for protecting compute instances, defining confidential compute concepts, and selecting the correct network protection controls.
  • Cloud data protection concepts and tools - This includes explaining encryption (both at rest and in transit) and identifying the tools available to protect cloud data.
  • Cloud regulatory compliance - This includes knowing the common types of data subject to regulatory protection, differentiating responsibilities for compliance, identifying cloud regulatory compliance documentation, and selecting the correct tools to monitor regulatory compliance.

Do I need to create an account with any cloud providers before attempting the INE Certified Cloud Associate (ICCA) certifications?

While it's highly recommended, you are not required to have access to any cloud provider's interfaces. You will have access to courses within each learning path where an instructor will walk you through various aspects of the cloud providers' interface. This will help you gain familiarity with these platforms, but gaining independent access to these providers' platforms is recommended if your learning style requires a more hands-on approach.
*** Please note, any charges incurred while using third-party services, including but not limited to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, are the sole responsibility of the user. INE is not liable for such charges.

Will I be expected to know how to navigate various cloud platform interfaces?

Yes! While various cloud provider interfaces are navigated and explained by the instructors in the courses, you may find it helpful to navigate these interfaces yourself. We understand that everyone learns differently, so if you need to follow along with the visual demonstrations on your screen, please feel free to seek access to those specific platforms.
*** Please note, any charges incurred while using third-party services, including but not limited to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, are the sole responsibility of the user. INE is not liable for such charges.

Once I purchase a voucher, how long do I have to use it?

You will have 180 days to use your ICCA voucher following purchase. There are no refunds available upon expiration.
